_Bachelor’s degree
_Evidence of artistic aptitude (to be determined in a two-stage process: preselection and where appropiate by an aptitude test at the university)                                                                        _Evidence of sufficient language skills for the study course selected
_Evidence of relevant practical artistic experience

15th March in a given year
_Annual start of course in the winter semester
The application documents must have been received by the university before expiry of the deadline – otherwise it will not be possible to process them.


_€50 application fee (payable together with the application)
_Each semester, all students have to pay a social contribution for the services provided by the Student Union, the student body contribution for the work of the AStA (General Student Committee) and the VRR/NRW public transport ticket. A list of the current individual contributions is available here.

Application & Documents to be submitted

_Completed application form (online)
_Applicant’s own works (score, sound storage media, videos, etc.)
_A written design (project plan) for an artistic development project describing the themes and desired results of the artistic engagement during the Master study course.

Aptitude test at university

After passing the first stage of the aptitude test by preselection there is a test at the university consisting of

_A colloquium of up to 45 minutes in duration, as a reflection discussion on the motivation to study, plans and goals, the applicant’s own works and previous activities
_Practical (musical) presentation of up to 15 minutes in duration, in which the applicant shall present his abilities and his own works (including in various media). The aptitude tests generally take place at the end of May/beginning of June. Precise dates are being announced in good time.
